Twenty years of practice built one framework.

Eric C. Boughman has spent more than two decades at the intersection of law, negotiation, and dispute resolution — representing businesses, physicians, and executives in complex matters; mediating hundreds of disputes; and helping clients see clearly in situations where clarity is the most valuable thing he can offer.
The RECO Method is the product of all of that. Not theory developed in a classroom, but a framework that emerged from real negotiations, real disputes, and the recurring pattern of watching capable people make avoidable mistakes because no one had helped them honestly confront their realistic downside risk.
RECO — Realistic Exposure to a Catastrophic Outcome — is how Eric has thought about high-stakes situations for years. Beyond Tactics is the first time he has put it all in one place.
The Practice
Eric is a founding partner of ForsterBoughman, a business and tax law boutique in Central Florida. His practice focuses on healthcare law, business law, and technology law — with particular depth in the places where those disciplines intersect. He represents physicians, medical practices, and healthcare organizations; businesses, entrepreneurs, and closely held companies; and high-net-worth individuals navigating complex planning and asset protection decisions.
He is licensed in Florida and Nevada. His work has appeared in Forbes, The Florida Bar Journal, Law360, Kiplinger, and multiple American Bar Association publications. He is a contributing author to the ABA publication on the Law of Artificial Intelligence.
For clients who need ongoing legal guidance, Eric provides outside general counsel services — working as a trusted advisor on contracts, regulatory issues, business decisions, and risk management.
The Mediation Practice
Eric is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Arbitrator, with additional certifications as an American Health Law Association Arbitrator and a FINRA Qualified Arbitrator. He has conducted hundreds of mediations, with particular depth in healthcare, technology, partnership, and complex commercial matters.
His mediation approach is built around a simple premise: most disputes stall not because parties can't compromise, but because no one has helped them honestly confront what continued conflict will actually cost. Eric brings that cost into focus. It is not pressure. It is clarity.
His mediation and dispute resolution practice is maintained at BoughmanMediation.com.
